Bill Splitter
Split the check evenly or by what each person ordered.
Each person pays
How this is calculated
Split evenly
Tax and tip are added to the bill, and the total is divided by the number of people. When it does not divide to the cent, the leftover cents go one each to the first people, so the shares never differ by more than one cent and always add up to the bill.
By item
Each dish is split equally between the people ticked on it. Tax and tip are then shared in proportion to what each person ordered, so someone who ordered more pays more tax and tip. Food, tax and tip are each rounded to the cent with the largest-remainder method, so each part stays within a cent of its exact value, every person's line adds up, and the shares add up to the bill exactly.
A tax or tip typed as an amount from the receipt covers every dish. If a dish is not ticked for anyone, it is left out along with its part of that tax and tip, and a warning shows how much is missing.
Tip
By default the tip is a percentage of the bill before tax, which is the common convention in the US. Tick "Tip on the amount after tax" to include tax.
